US deadlier than al-Qaeda: Ground Zero mosque Imam

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf
New York, Aug 24: An audio clip of the imam behind the controversial Ground Zero mosque has unveiled a shocking angle to the campaign.

In the audio uncovered by blogger Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is heard telling his overseas audiences that United States is far more deadly than al-Qaeda.

At a 2005 lecture sponsored by the University of South Australia, the Imam said, "We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaeda has on its hands of innocent non Muslims."

"The West needs to begin to see themselves through the eyes of the Arab and Muslim world, and when you do you will see the predicament that exists within the Muslim community," he added, stressing that Islam does not need a reformation.
