Madrid, Aug 18: A Spain court ruled a Google representative to appear before the court in Oct 2010 as part of an investigation against the Google's Street View cars in Spain.
Google Street View cars had grabbed data from unsecured networks for years as its captured images of street scenes in different countries. In May 2010, Google admitted that it's Street View cars had recorded fragments of people"s online activities broadcast over wireless networks.
At the same time, Google claimed that they never used the personal data they collected through Google Street View cars.
On Jul 30, 2010, British Information Commissioner Office (ICO) told that Google's collection of personal details through Wi-Fi networks was happened 'accidentally' and cleared of other charges in Britain.
Along with Spain, many other countries also started probe on data collected through personal Wi-Fi links by Google. On Aug 10, 2010, Korean police raided the Google office and seized hard drives and other documents related to data collected using Street View Cars.
