Infosys techie goes missing in Chennai

Chennai, Aug 13: A 23-year-old, Infosys employee, working at the company's Mahindra World City centre, has been missing since Monday, Aug 9.

Software professional Avik Mukherjee, lived with his roommates at a rented accommodation in Singaperumal Koil, 40 kilometres from the state capital Chennai.

The incident came to light when a Avik's roommate Devanjan Bhattacharya, informed Avik's father Bhrigu Mukherjee that Avik did not return after he left home at 9:30 pm on Monday, Aug 9.

"When Devanjan called me and said that Avik had not returned, I asked him to lodge a complaint. He then filed a missing person complaint with the Maraimalainagar Police Station," said Bhrigu, a senior officer at Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh.

Even Avik"s parents arrived in the city on Thursday, Aug 12, night.

Avik had joined Infosys on Jul 1 and had moved to the apartment after a seven-day orientation at the company guesthouse.

The police are investigating the matter.
