Swedish internet co discloses its WikiLeaks link

WikiLeaks
Solna, Aug 7: A Swedish Internet company PRQ disclosed its link with online whistle-blower WikiLeaks in releasing classified documents from servers located in a Stockholm suburb.

The firm has been working with WikiLeaks since 2008 but through a Swedish middleman and provides the Internet service, electricity and other services, including restarting the servers when needed.

PRQ owner Mikael Viborg said that WikiLeaks has servers outside Sweden, too.

"There are backups. If one goes down, there are others that take over," he added.

PRQ, in particular, offered its services to controversial websites, citing its "boundless commitment to free speech."

"The freedom of expression and the transparency that is required in a democratic society, I think they are important," stated Viborg.

WikiLeaks posted more than 76,900 classified military and other documents, mostly raw intelligence reports from Afghanistan, on its website on Jul 25.

The White House angrily denounced the leaks, saying they put the lives of Afghan informants and US troops at risk.

New speculations are also coming over WikiLeaks' new posted encrypted file 'Insurance' as if US government interfere with them, they will reveal more secret information through the file.

Viborg said that he didn't know whether that file was hosted on the servers in Solna, though he added that "I assume it is."
