Lahore, Jul 27: Lahore High Court Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry asks the position of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority on the petition filed for the permanent ban on Facebook.

The petition for the permanent ban on social networking website Facebook was filed by Judicial Activism Panel chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique claiming that the Facebook has launched an anti-Islam competition.

The petition described that the Facebook was hosting a page with a contest named 'Everybody Burn Quran Day' and it also displayed profane pictures of 'Khana-e-Kaaba'.

Earlier in May 2010 Pak authorities had blocked Facebook for holding blasphemous materials. The access to the sites were later restored.
