Pak slams India, peace process collapses

SM Qureshi
Islamabad, Jul 16: The Indo-Pak peace process, which resumed after a huge disruption following the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, has yet again collapsed as the Pakistani Foreign Minister SM Qureshi blocked out all essentials of diplomacy and sharply criticised India and the visting Indian External Affairs Minister, SM Krishna.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Jul 16, Qureshi remarked "India is not prepared for talks."

He said that India is insensitive to Pak concerns and therefore the dialogue can not continue. The minister also asserted Pakistan's concern on Kashmir.

Making a personal attack on his Indian counterpart, Qureshi said, "Not once did I leave to take a phone call. I was the host and it is not our culture. But the Indian Foreign Minister received calls from Delhi during the talks."

He also insulted all the steps taken by India to heal the strained bilateral ties by saying that New Delhi has a "selective approach" and that no talks can be held until the country changes its plans.

"India cannot say we can discuss Sir Creek, but not Siachen. We realize the issues are complex and movement can be incremental, but all issues must be on the table," he said.

On the issue of terrorism, the minister gave the same old response that Pakistan was also a victim of terrorism.

These scathing statements came just a day after the foreign minister level talks between the neighbouring countries and the press conference was held even while SM Krishna was in the country.

SM Qureshi spoke with harsh tone and unacceptable animal like expression during the press conference. He really doesn'nt deserve being a minister at all instead should be given a position next to Hafeez Saeed to lecture provocative speech to Jihadis
