'Anti-India' rally in Islamabad

Pakistan
Islamabad, Jul 7: Syed Salahuddin, the chief of Hizbul Mujahideen held a rally in Islamabad on Wednesday, Jul 7 portraying 'anti-India' remarks.

The rally was organised by the Pakistan chapter of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) near Lal Masjid.

Salahuddin led the rally along with six other Kashmiri militant leaders as the protest against the alleged human rights abuses in Jammu Kashmir.

The rally was attended by scores of protestors who shouted slogans against the Indian government and the Army.

Salahuddin said that Kashmiri people were sacrificing for the 'independence' of Jammu Kashmir. He added that if the Pakistan government is not able to protect the interests of the Kashmiris, it should step aside as they are efficient to fight for their cause.

The leaders of Mirwaiz and Gilani segments of APHC and other separatist leaders from the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) also addressed the 'anti-India' rally.

Salahuddin, who is also the head of the United Jihad Council (UJC) has emerged since last year leading protests and rallies as they were lying low for several years during the administration of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf who cracked down on Kashmiri militants groups. This is the first time Salahuddin is making the protest in Islamabad in several years.
