Kabul, Jul 7: The national security officer of Afghanistan, Rangin Dadfar Spanta urged the Pakistani government to take 'serious measures' against the Islamist groups, which launch attacks on Afghan targets from secure havens inside Pakistan.
Spanta was talking in an interview when he said that Afghanistan has 'tremendous evidence' that Pakistan allows al Qaeda and the other terror outfits to operate on the country's soil and had presented it to Islamabad several times.
His remarks signaled an about-turn by the Afghan government after several months of approaches to instigate Pakistan to deal with the militant groups.
Pakistan had organized special task force to put down 17 terror outfits which work from the nation, Lashkar-e-Taiba being the main among them. The special task force set up by Pakistan consists of the officers from special branch, CID and Anti Terrorism Squad, to track the movements and act against the terror outgroups.
