TRS MP Vijayashanti arrested for 'hate speech'

Hyderabad, Jul 3: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MP Vijayasanthi was on Saturday, Jul 2, arrested for violating poll code ahead of the Telangana by polls, which is scheduled to begin on Jul 27.

The actress-turned-politician had allegedly made inflammatory remarks at an election meeting of party workers at the TRS office in Hyderabad on Wednesday, Jun 30.

Banaraja Hills police on Friday, Jul 2 registered a case against her under IPC sections 153-A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth and residence) and 505(2) (Statements creating or promoting enmity, ill-will or hatred between classes).

In her alleged 'hate speech', Vijayashanti had allegedly said that the hands of those who oppose the formation of the separate state of Telangana should be chopped off.

AP: TRS forces adjournment of Council

Hyderabad, July 18: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today forced the adjournment of the Legislative Council for five minutes before it could take up the listed business, demanding implementation of the Sachar committee recommendations. FIRST GET UNIFORM CODE THAN TELANGANA. Only uniform code can save the country and Telangana. Abolish personal laws. Please stop the harm to individual civilian, by mass practices.

Does MP Vijayashanthi respect the law and constitution of India? Firstly, the AP police officers bravely performed their sworn duties to the nation. We should commend them and honor them. If the model code of conduct was not in effect I am sure the Cm and HM of AP would have held them back so the Govt. of AP is not responsible. If so why is Vijayashanthi, MP of India, trying to escape prosecution by trying to get the brave police officers to first apologize and then withdraw the case? If she is...
