146 bodies recovered in Mangalore air crash

Saturday, May 22: Around 146 dead bodies from the mangled remains of the Air India aircraft which crashed near Mangalore today May 22 have been recovered till the last reports came in.

Mangalore city police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh told the media, "So far 146 bodies have been extricated. There are still bodies inside the aircraft.Rescue teams are continuing efforts to remove them,". It is reported that most of the bodies were charred beyond recognition because of the fire in the plane.

Around 40 ambulances have been engaged to transport the bodies which have been kept in mortuaries of five hospitals in the Mangalore.

Though he expressed difficulty in telling the exact number of casualties reported , "We will know the exact figure only after removing all the bodies from the aircraft".

The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) investigating teams arrived to conduct further investigations.Fire personnel have put out the flames engulfing the aircraft.

worst accident in a new airport,worst indian aviation,worst recruitment of pilots. thus results to the unanswerable accident like this.
