MoU between DMIDC & 6 Japanese companies
New Delhi, Apr 30: A MoU was signed between Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and Development Corporation (DMIDc) and six major Japanese companies including Toshiba, Mitsubishi, and Hitachi on Friday, Apr 30 on the sidelines of a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) seminar.

The MoU between the Indian industries and Japanese companies has the potential to revolutionize infrastructure development and emerge as a role model that can be taken to other parts of the world, said the Mr Nasayuki Naoshima, Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

While addressing the CII – Jetro Seminar on India – Japan Business Opportunities, Mr Naoshima said that innovations in energy efficiency, recycling and sustainable infrastructure development would serve as a second green revolution for the world and would be the driving force for innovation.

Hailing India"s dynamic middle-class and its young population, the minister opined that India's potential for growth was practically unlimited.

Anand Sharma, Minister for Commerce and Industry, who also addressed the seminar said, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) represented a great opportunity for investment for both Japanese and Indian companies.

He also used the opportunity to invite the Japanese business community to come forward and embrace the growth potential of the Indian economy.

With a rapidly growing urban population and expansive infrastructure needs, India represented an investment opportunity for the future, the minister said, adding Japanese firms with their expertise in infrastructure development were particularly well placed to leverage this opportunity.
