Congress not in a hurry to form govt in Jharkhand
Ranchi, Apr 29: Even as the BJP is holding its core meeting to discuss on Hemant Soren's offer, the Congress said on Friday, Apr 29, that it was not in a hurry to form government in Jharkhand.

"We are not in a hurry. We are closely observing the political situation in Jharkhand. For us, all options are open," AICC spokesman Mohan Prakash said in a news agency report when asked about the party's course of action on BJP withdrawal of support.

"The Congress has always desired for a dispensation that could provide a transparent governance with development-driven goals in Jharkhand," he said.

BJP announced its decision to withdraw support from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government after the Chief Minister Shibu Soren voted in favor of the UPA in the cut motion, which eventually led to the BJP's defeat on Tuesday, Apr 27.

However, in an apparent attempt to save the government, JMM MLA and Shibu Soren's son Hemant apologized to the party and said that Soren was willing to step down if the BJP wants to come to power.
