New Delhi, Apr 19: With the gritty clouds of volcanic ash making it impossible for the flights to operate, Indian airliners have also been forced to cancel their flights to European countries for the fifth day.
Indian carriers Air India, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines have cancelled flights to the UK and other parts of Europe.
However, AI and Jet Airways will be flying flights to US and Canada. These flights will be taking an alternative route.
The cancellation of flights has left thousands of travellers stranded in the airports. Airlines are in reportedly talks with various foreign missions in India asking them to take care of the passengers.
Over the past three days, airlines have provided accommodation and other facilities to its passengers. Sources said that the airlines are now finding it hard to continue providing facilities to the people.
