Tharoor meets PM ahead of  Congress core meeting
New Delhi, Apr 18: Ahead of the Congress core group meeting, Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the Kochi IPL controversy.

In his 45-meeting with the Prime Minister, Tharoor reportedly told Singh that he had not derived any personal or monetary gain from the incident.

Tharoor said that he was ready to quit if he had embarrassed the government, adding that he was willing to abide by the party's decision.

Prime Minister has called for a Congress core group meeting at 6.30 pm to discuss the issue.

I feel that Modis role in IPL to be investigated before decision is taken on Tarur's issue.

Tharoor is definitely more credible and honorable than Modi who has a very tarnished criminal record. India seems to be unable to tolerate competent and young forward-looking politicians. It would rather put up with corrupt gerontocrats. What a tragic democracy?
