BSP to flush out criminals from party

Lucknow, Apr 18: BSP on Saturday, Apr 17, has announced that it would get rid of all the party leaders with criminal background.

The decision, which came three days after the killing of a party leader, was announced at a day—long meeting of the party"s district chiefs and coordinators, addressed by party supremo Mayawati"s close confidante and multiple portfolio minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui here.

"The party chief has resolved to rid the BSP of all criminal and anti—social elements in the party latest by the end of the month," Siddiqui told the gathering.

Siddique said that the presence of any outlaws in the party would not be tolerated by the party leadership.

Referring to killing of party leader Hanuman Sharan Shukla, who was shot dead at a BSP demonstration in Gonda on Wednesday, Apr 14, Siddique said that his death has drawn the party's attention to the bad name that the Gonda killing had given to the BSP.
