Asian TV market exposure making cricket prime target for corruption: May

"The higher the TV market the higher the risk when it is being broadcast into areas where gambling is illegal. Typically, corruption occurs where there is illegal gambling," News of The World quoted May, as saying.

"It is up to cricket's chiefs to ensure that the anti-corruption education is filtered down to its domestic players as well as the international players," he added.

"Twenty20 is ripe for corruption. The shorter the game the more influence each incident can have. It opens up a great deal of opportunities for bookmakers to try and corrupt players," he said further. (ANI)
