President to arrive in Assam on Apr 16
Guwahati, Apr 16: President Pratibha Patil, who is on a two-day visit to Assam, will reach Guwahati on Friday, Apr 16.

According to officials the President is expected to arrive at Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi airport at 5 pm.

Upon her arrival in the evening, Patil will attend the cultural programme showcasing the culture of the State. She will be spending the night at Raj Bhavan.

Patil will inaugurate programmes for “Access to Justice and Socio-Economic development of North Eastern States" at 10.30 am on Apr 17 at Pragjyoti Indian Tea Association complex at Machkowa in the city, after which she will fly back to New Delhi.

North Eastern regional committee for access to justice and socio-economic development, DONER, IGNOU and the Assam State legal services authority are the organisers of the programme.

This will be the first formal call by Dr Singh on Mrs Patil after her assumption of office yesterday.
