Will Earth Hour beat IPL fever?
Bangalore, Mar 26: As India remains captivated in the IPL fever, the whole world is gearing up for the Earth Hour, organised by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to beat the climate change.

The Earth Hour 2010, which has roped in support from across the world to fight uncontrolled emission of green house gases is likely to face stiff competition from the IPL matches which is scheduled at the same time when the Earth Hour is set to take place.

The match between Kings XI Punjab vs Kolkata Knight Riders is scheduled at 8:00 PM IST at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, while Earth Hour has been set to place at 8:30 to 9:30 PM IST on Mar 27.

India is one of the participants in this year's switch off, with cities like Delhi and Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata pledging  support to the move.

Keeping in mind the way cricket is viewed in the India, it will be major conflict for the cricket fans to choose between the game they love to watch or to be part of the Earth Hour and do their part in reducing carbon emission.

New Delhi, Mar 26: The CII has called upon all industries and citizens to render their support to observe Earth Hour 2010.Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII said, "Earth Hour is an important global event to create awareness on climate change and also send a strong message that climate change requires collective action.""It is projected that India will be one of the worst affected as a result of global warming. CII and its members not only recognize the gravity.....
