Washington, Mar 17: A top US general has said that terror groups like LeT still do not figure in the radar of the Pakistani establishment, adding that Washington's source of dialogue with Islamabad was the need to act against the outfit responsible for the Mumbai terror attacks.

General David Petraeus, Commander of US Central Command, said that terror outifit like Lashkar-e-Taiba "which is waging a serious war against terrorism in the tribal areas of the country bordering Afghanistan, in particular the Taliban and al-Qaida" is still not on radar of Pakistan.

Speaking before the Senate Armed Services Committee, Petraeus said that the entire Obama administration had expressed their concern with the Pakistan government over LeT after Mumbai attacks in which 166 people, including Americans were killed.

Petraeus said that the source of US dialogue with the Pakistan authorities is the rise of LeT and the need to tackle them.

In reply to a query raised by Senator Claire McCaskill, who expressed concern over Pakistan's lack of 'substantial action' against LeT, he said that Pakistan is yet to consider LeT in its radar.

"There's no question but that there are elements in Pakistan that have not yet been the focus of the Pakistani counterinsurgency efforts," Gen Petraeus said.

Responding to McCaskill's concern over LeT's growing strength, with reference to recent terrorist attack on Indians in Kabul, Petraeus said that Pakistan army was taking stringent action against al-Qaida and the Taliban in the Northwest Frontier Province of Pakistan.
