Relatives of Balochistan's missing persons organize long march to Islamabad

Quetta, Mar. 15 (ANI): In a bid to press the Pakistan Government for an early recovery of missing people, over two dozens relatives of several missing persons from Balochistan started a long march from Quetta to Islamabad.

Led by Voice of Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) chairman Nasrullah Baloch, the group of relatives reached Islamabad on Monday.

"While announcing the Balochistan Package, the prime minister had himself promised to release the missing persons. But only a few people have been released so far," The Nation quoted Baloch as saying.

He added that the number of Baloch missing persons was in thousands.

Baloch said the relatives would organise a three-day hunger strike camp outside the Supreme Court building and stage a demonstration in front of Prime Minister's House while a memorandum would also be handed over to the United Nations office.

"We will also ask the UN to set up a commission to assist Baloch internally displaced persons (IDPs) on the pattern of Afghan refugees," he said.

He demanded the chief justice, the UN and other humanitarian organisations to find a solution of the missing persons issue. (ANI)
