New Delhi, Mar 7: Maoist top leader Koteswar Rao alias Kishenji has claimed that Maoists will overthrow Indian state before 2050.
Kishenji's statement comes just two days after Union Home Secretary G K Pillai had said that the Maoists had plans to overthrow the Indian state by 2050.
"We will overthrow the Indian government much before 2050," Kishenji was quoted by news agency as saying.
Kishenji also denied the involvement of former army officers in their operations and insisted that the Maoists do not need any help from army officers.
"We don't need the support of any army man. For the last 30 years, we know the type of war we do better than any military officer," he said.Reiterating that the repeated offer of talks by the Maoists had been turned down, Kishenji said "we have repeatedly offered talks to the government but it has been turned down."
He added that it was for the government to act on the peace offer.
