Chennai, Mar 6: The Swami Nithyananda sex scandal seems to get uglier by the minute as more murky details about the video and reports of the spiritual guru going up to the extent of trying to kill an ashram inmate come to light.
As it was reported two days ago, Nithyananda's ashram has stated that one of the inmates identified as Nithya Premananda, alias Lenin Karuppan, was the one behind the malicious video, which was taken and distributed with an intention of defaming the guru.
Now, Premananda has reportedly sought protection from Chennai police saying that Nithyananda is trying to kill him.

A Deccan Chronicle report says that Premananda has told the police that he was given a hot chase by Nithyananda"s men from Bengaluru right up to Salem and that he was lucky to escape to Chennai.
How the video was distributed
According to police sources, Premananda and his accomplices distributed around 86 copies of video on DVDs to media organisations, other institutions, few important people along with Nithyananda ashrams and foreign devotees.
The DVDs were sent with a five page unsigned letter, which reveals some very disturbing details about the Karnataka's Bidadi ashram.
Claiming to be from a 23-year-old woman inmate of Bidadi ashram, the letter seeks action against guru for abusing women devotees sexually. The letter also alleges human rights violations.
