Maoists want to overthrow Indian state: Pillai

Maoists want to overthrow Indian state: Pillai
New Delhi, Mar 5: Union Home Secretary G K Pillai on Friday, Mar 5, said that Maoists agenda was to overthrow the Indian state by 2050.

Pillai was speaking at the Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis in New Delhi.

"Documents which were found revealed that the Maoist agenda was to overthrow the Indian state by 2050, possibly with the help of ex-Armymen," Pillai said.

"Maoists were not serious about talks because they weren't under enough pressure to do so," Pillai said.

"Right now, Maoists were looking to regroup and build their own army towards their plans," he said adding that they were using administrative vacuum and under development to do this.

Pillai added that the only way to fight them was through development.

Earlier, Home Minister P Chidambaram had asked Maoists to abjure violence and asked them to contact for peace talks.

HS GK Pillai has said that Maoists are using the administrative vaccum and under development for raisng support in their favour. I totally agree with Mr. Pillai. But what the Government needs is to have such information with concern. I think that every one in India today knows that the administrative system in Indian democracy has in general lost the good will of the common poor rural tribal Indian , more so the educated less resourceful unemployed youth too is carrying irritation against the local civil and law & order machinery. One of the tools that the insurgents and the rerrorists are using to earn local support and goodwill against governemnt machinery is common man feeling that the government of the day can not provide them social, material and administrative security. Even the justice has gone beyond the econimic and time scale reach of the common man. The corrupt order as is growing even in the central serices like IAS /IPS to the extent that in a single case CBI / investigation agencies could unearth cash woth Rs. three crores from the house of a IAS couple couple should have shaken New Delhi, but I regret to write that it has been taken so casually. A Chief Minister of a newly carved state gets involved in Rs.4000 crore and the news has just decorated the print pages for a weeks time. Any how even if the foreign powers / agencies do not exploit indian poor / needy against the country , their is enough manure available for even those who want to disturb the internal conditions for their local political motives. So the HS who has so wisely summarised the tools being used by the maoists / insurgents , must now act wildly to undo those who are involved in the mutilation of the state justice / law order/ economic development machinery.
