India's economy to grow 8 pc next fiscal: PM
New Delhi, Mar 5: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday, Mar 5, said that he was confident India's economic growth would exceed 8 percent in the next fiscal.

Speaking in Lok Sabha, Singh said, "This year we hope to achieve 7.2-7.5 percent economic growth; next fiscal we expect to achieve 8 percent and year thereafter we expect to return to 9 percent."

On food inflation, the Prime Minister said, "The government has been alive to this problem and has taken all possible measures to address this issue."

Price rise to be checked, says Manmohan Singh

I do agree with Mr. Nair. India is not aloof in world. It is related to international affairs. I saw a change (in crude oil prices)of 300% in 8 months in 2008-09. What a Government can do which do not own oil resources. Still If we are able to maintain our growth rate more than 7% in such environment, that is better.
