New Delhi, Mar 2: Amidst the uproar created by her article, Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen has denied writing it for the Kannada newspaper, stating that the article was a 'deliberate attempt to malign her'.

In a news agency report, Nasreen while expressing shock over incident, denied writing an article for any newspaper in Karnataka.

"The incident that occurred in Karnataka on Monday shocked me. I learned that it was provoked by an article written by me that appeared in a Karnataka newspaper. But I have never written any article for any Karnataka newspaper in my life," she said.

I think what was published in the newspaper was utter non sense. News paper should avoid behaving like morons, when they are aware about the taslima's controversial opinion’ should not have written anything against any religion. Newspaper should not misuse the powers given to them by the constitution of India. I blame the newspaper to provoking the feelings of a community which resulted in this violence and disaster. Moreover they've used taslima in order to creat communal tension. Taslima denies writing controversial article... Now whom would you make the scapegoat.

Taslima nasreen has freedom to express her view; she would not insult any religion by doing so.
