
Chandigarh, Feb 28: Tension prevailed in various parts of Haryana and Punjab, after supporters of the Dera Sacha Sauda went on a rampage on Saturday evening, Feb 27.
Police said, four companies (nearly 400 personnel) of central paramilitary forces have reached Haryana for deployment in the violence-hit areas.
According to police, the situation in the affected areas in Punjab, including Moga, Bhatinda and Sangrur districts, was tense but under control
On Saturday, Feb 27, a murder case was filed against the Dera Sacha Sauda head by the CBI.
The sect supporters went on a rampage setting ablaze four trains and around 37 vehicles, including 27 buses, and vandalised property in several places in Punjab and Haryana.
