Petrol, diesel prices hiked by Re 1: Pranab

New Delhi, Feb 26: The Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday, Feb 26, said that the central excise duty on petrol and diesel was being increased by Re 1 per litre.

This announcement led to a ruckus in the parliament. Some opposition members walked out of the house in protest.

Leader of Opposition and BJP MP Sushma Swaraj led the walkout calling the Budget an "inflationary Budget".
