Ban on broadcast of Pune blast footage
Pune, Feb 25: On an application filed by the Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS), a court has banned the broadcast of the CCTV footage of Feb 13 German Bakery blast in a bid to ensure unhindered investigations in the case.

Pune Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh informed that the directive was also passed to protect the witnesses.

With this order, CCTV footage from the five star hotel adjacent to the site of the blast is banned from being aired.

The police officer also revealed that the investigators have been receiving letters from various organisations such as 'SIMI International' and 'Mujaheedin Islamic Muslim Front' claiming responsibility for the blast which has until now claimed 16 lives. However, the credibility of the claims are under question.

The letters cannot be treated as 'genuine' but police are trying to verify their source, Singh said.
