Zardari's drivers slip away during special training in US

Islamabad, Feb. 23 (ANI): Five official drivers of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, who had been sent to the US for a chauffeur-training course last year, have managed to slip away in that country abandoning their Government of Pakistan jobs.

According to The Nation, the Presidency had sent five drivers including Rafiq Khattak, Shakir Khan, Fayyaz Butt and two others to the US for special training.

Sources say two managed to slip away right after completing their training, while three came back with multiple visas to pursue private careers abroad.

The five are now pursuing private careers in the US.

Rafiq Khattak, who had been working with the Presidency for last 24 years, submitted a leave application from abroad.

The Presidency rejected his application and sent him a show cause notice.

When asked, Presidential Spokesman, Farhatullah Babar said he had no idea about the incidents.

"I have never heard of it," he said. (ANI)

Mobile use while travelling dangerous for both drivers and pedestrians

Washington, March 5 (ANI): Talking on the mobile phone while travelling is dangerous for both drivers and pedestrians, according to two American studies.Led by Rutgers Universtiy researchers in Newark, New Jersey, the studies have shown that whether travellers use the phone while driving or while walking, it is increasing the deaths of pedestrians as well as those of drivers and passengers.Economics Professor Peter D. Loeb, lead author of the studies, has recommended crackdowns on cell use by both pedestrians.....
