Sushma Swaraj takes over as Leader of Opposition

New Delhi, Feb 23: Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar on Tuesday, Feb 23 introduced the new Leader of the Opposition to the house - Ms Sushma Swaraj.

Sushma Swaraj, who took over the post from the senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader LK Advani, was welcomed by the members of the house thumping their desks.

Even though he was not present in the house, the speaker thanked Mr Advani for his 'healthy and fruitful' cooperation in the conduct of the proceedings.

Ms Swaraj is a very rwspectable leader in the opposition party and the country has high expectation from her particularly in the field of crusade against corruption, bursting population, education and health matter. It is not understood how she is not doing the needful to implement a system where no permission is required to initiate police/criminal action against politicians and high bureaucrats which is the mother of all problems in India.
