Brown refuses inquiry into 'bullying staff'

London, February 23 (ANI): British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has refused to launch an inquiry after senior staff was reportedly disciplined for bullying and harassing colleagues.

Up to four employees, who either worked in Downing Street or the adjoining Cabinet Office, were said to have faced disciplinary action.

The Prime Minster was criticised for giving a thumbs down to a full probe into the aggression claims.

"We don't see any need to have an inquiry," The Sun quoted his official spokesman as saying.

Political commentator Andrew Rawnsley accused Brown of verbally attacking and manhandling employees in a new book The End Of The Party.

Brown is said to have displayed his alleged "abusive" behaviour and "volcanic temper" on at least three occasions, a claim denied by the No. 10. (ANI)

Burning wood, animal dung behind brown haze above Indian Ocean

London, Jan 23 (ANI): In India, many people burn wood and animal dung to heat their homes and cook their food. Now, a new study has revealed that burning such biomass, organic matter makes up most of a huge brown cloud of pollution that hangs over South Asia and the Indian Ocean during the winter months.The study found that two thirds of the soot particles in brown haze originate from biomass burning, and only one third from fossil fuel sources......
