Non bailable warrant against Sajjan Kumar

New Delhi, Feb 23: Chiding the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over its failure to arrest the accused in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots including former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar, a Delhi court on Tuesday, Feb 23 issued fresh non-bailable warrant against the ex-MP and 11 other accused in the case.

After the hearing the CBI submit it had conducted raids at the residences of the accused but failed to apprehend them, the court said, "So far ground work is concerned, CBI does not seem to be serious enough to apprehend the accused. CBI wants to complete only paper work. These are all stereotype reports."

Additional chief metropolitan magistrate Lokesh Kumar Sharma put down the CBI's plea seeking issue of proclamation against the accused on the ground that they were absconding.

CBI said that the accused were hiding from the law.

"Is the non-bailable warrant to be executed at the residences only?" the court questioned.
