Netherland to have 1Gbps broadband soon
Bangalore, Feb 20: As the world waits for the Google Fiber, an experimental fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network, it has been reported that ReggeFiber, Dutch FTTH operator ReggerFiber is all set to upgrade its network to 1 Gbps.

ReggeFiber, in collaboration with Dutch incumbent KPN, is all set to developed the standard connection speed for it is 300,000 FTTH customers.

The decline in the prices of equipments used by the company, ranging from modems to central office stuff has enable ReggeFiber to embark into this project.

The networking equipment used by the company is from Cisco Systems and it uses the Swedish gear maker Packet Front and modems made by a local company called Genexis.

India has about 8 million broadband connections and 45 million internet users.

NBC sees Web video JV launch in September
