Telangana agitations rock Andhra again

Telangana agitations rock Andhra again
Hyderabad, Feb 15: The Government's Terms of Reference (ToR) to the Telangana committee has led to fresh protests and agitations in Andhra Pradesh. While as many as 15 MLAs from the Telangana region have handed over their resignation, Osmania University has yet again donned the image of a battlefield as police and protesters clash.

On Sunday, Feb 14 afternoon, Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy received resignation letter of 10 TRS MLAs, two Congress MLAs, one TDP MLA, one PRP MLA, and one BJP MLA.

The MLAs submitted their resignations protesting the ToR of the Sri Krishna Committee. The government appointed committee, set up to resolve the issue of division of AP to make way for separate Telangana, received the ToR on Friday, Feb 12.

Students and police clashed at the Osmania University as the protests went on late into the evening on Sunday, Feb 14. The police and paramilitary forces lobbed tear gas shells, shot rubber bullets and resorted to lathi charge to control the crowd, injuring at least 30 people. Journalists covering the agitation were also beaten up. Leaders of university students Joint Action Committee (JAC), who alleged that police entered hostels and beat up students, have threatened of mass suicides if the police and security forces do not leave the university.

As per the latest inputs, tension prevailed at the university even as the week begun. More MLAs are expected to resign on Monday, Feb 15.

why are the TRS involving students in the agitations. i have seen school children being brought into the agitations. STOP PLAYING with children. they are innocent. and students of OU should understand that T becoming a state is not their priority. their priority shuld be to study for the exams. none of the TRS politicians are bothered about students loosing their 1-yr of study. TRS politicians are behaving as if hyd is their personal property. who are these guys to tell whether a bandh shuld be declared in hyd or not ? why are these people playing with the lives of millions of people who survive on daily wages. i think it is time that pple shuld come out and not respond to the bandh call by these so called parties.

Will the JAC-T explain the logic behind achieving separate T by Resignations of the T-Peoples representatives of all parties? TRS 10+2+1 resignations is no great sacrifice, as such for KCr there is not much respect in the public. Why not the T-activists visit the seema-andra/united Andhra JAC’s. Party offices, People of other regions and bring them into confidence instead of wasteful protests and resignation dramas in Hyderabad. When will the realization come in the T-activists that, the T – IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT ACCEPTANCE/CONSENT OF PEOPLE OF OTHER REGIONS VIZ: SEMA-ANDHRA-HYDERABADIS WHICH JAC-T Prof. Ko-danda/KCR NEVER REALISED DUE TO FOOLISH ARROGANT APPROACH /COMPLETELY MIS-HANDLING T-ISSUE.KCR IS INFACT RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES/SUFFERINGS OF THE STUDENTS/YOUTH. KCR IS UNFIT TO LIVE IN SOCIETY AND HAVING NO MORAL AUTHORITY TO DEMAND CM TO QUIT AFTER SHAMELESS FAST ACT OF DECEIT ON PEOPLE OF NATION FOR POLITICAL SURVIAL AND PERSONAL KCR FAMILY FORTUNES AT THE SACRIFICES OF INNOCENT RURAL MASSES/YOUTH OF T. THE COST OF MEDICATION TREATMENT/COMPENSATION BE RECOVERED FROM KCR PERSONAL FORTUNES & TRS FUNDS FOR PROVOCATIVE UNREST. They say it takes two to act smart. the students were shown compassion and handled with kid gloves by Law & order for past 2-3 months of academic disruptions/bandhs/unrest/stone hits to dept.staff/officers, arrogant/ rogue vandalism, violent protest at the behest of vested t-politicians for personal fortunes and political survival (non-academic issue). Even students Garjanas were permitted by conditions from Law were honored. There is upper limit of patience to any controlling function which once crosses brute/tough actions become inevitable. Let us hope students will focus on academics since their political masters KCr/TRS resignations already accepted.
