New Delhi, Feb 10: India's largest software exporter, Tata Consultancy Services, which is eyeing a double-digit growth in the coming two years, is reportedly planning on hiring as many as 30,000 personnel in the financial year 2010-2011.
"We are looking at hiring 30,000 employees across IT services, BPO and infrastructure services," CEO and managing director, TCS, N Chandrasekaran revealed at the NASSCOM Leadership Forum 2010.
On a question on recruitment plans during the current fiscal, he said, "We are on a path to hire 1,000 people. We have already hired 300."
Chandrasekaran also informed that TCS has signed a few large deals as well as a number of smaller ones.
"We expect good growth from retail, pharma and utilities," he said, adding that telecom and manufacturing, on the other hand, may see lesser growth.
When asked about US president Barack Obama's move to 'slash tax breaks' to companies
that ship US jobs overseas,
Chandrasekaran opined that it not an immediate threat to India.
