S Africa: 15 charred to death in orphanage fire
Johannesburg, Feb 10: Fifteen people, including the owner, were charred to death when a fire broke out in an orphanage on Tuesday, Feb 9.

Police spokesman Jay Naicker said that the owner and her four children were found dead along with others when they reach the place after being alerted about the fire in the Hope in Christ Home in Ngogo town in the wee hours.

Two vehicles outside the orphanage too were engulfed by the fire.

While investigation has been ordered into the incident by the Officials of the South African Ministry of Social Development,  counselors have been sent for the survivors.

The nine injured children, between the age of 2 and 15 have been admitted in a hospital for treatment.

The home was one the many orphanages which have come up in many town across South Africa, at the backdrop of increasing number of parents falling prey to the HIV-AIDS pandemic.
