New Delhi, Feb 10: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Wednesday, Feb 10 announced that Bhairavi Jani has taken over as the National Chairman of CII"s Young Indians (Yi) for 2010-11 while Shankar Vanavarayar has taken charge as the National Vice Chairman.
Bhairavi Jani, who is the Director at SCA Group of Companies and Executive Director TranSmart, is a fourth generation entrepreneur taking the family business, started by her great grandfather in 1896, to new heights, the CII press release said.
Bhairavi, who has a Bachelor of Science in Business with Magna Cum Laude from Miami University, Ohio, stepped into the business by setting up a fourth party logistics company in India in 2001.
After completing MyGlobe Executive Education Programme at INSEAD in France in 2005, Bhairavi was appointed the Director for all the companies under the SCA Group.
Shankar Vanavarayar, who has taken charge as the National Vice Chairman, is currently working as the Executive Director of Sakthi Auto Motors Ltd, which is a dealer for TATA Motors.
Besides taking care of textiles, diary and Retail businesses of the Sakthi Group, Shakar shows interest in architecture, travel, music, photography, writing on Heritage and collection of antiques and art. This has led him to be involved with other organisations including being named the Co-convener – Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage (INTACH).
Formed in 2002, Young Indians (Yi) is a part of CII. It aims at creating a platform for young Indians to realize the dream of a developed nation.
