Helpless court grants bail to 'Paedophile' Heum

'Paedophile' Heum to walk free
Chennai, Feb 9: Citing that it was not possible to hold 'paedophile' Will Heum in custody any longer, a Saidapet court on Monday, Feb 8 granted bail to the man.

Heum, who has been accused of child sexual abuse and uploading child pornography on the Internet, is expected to be freed in a period of two to three days, Times Now reported.

He has already spent a maximum of 80 days in remand and could not be held in prison any more in the absence of a chargesheet, the court noted in an unscheduled bail hearing.

However, the court has put certain 'conditions' on the bail. Heum will also have to sign a bond before he can walk free, but this will likely be accomplished in a few days, the report published on Tuesday, Feb 9 said.

This comes as a huge blow to the child rights activists who are fighting for justice in the case as the police fail to quickly file a chargesheet.

Times Now TV, which has been following up the case since it began, blamed blames the police of taking the case lightly and postponing the filing of chargesheet as the report reads, 'there is no hurry since the 90-day deadline for submitting a chargesheet has not lapsed yet'.
