Shanghai, Feb 9: The conflict between Asian giant, China and Internet giant, Google Inc has intensified further as the search engine major has now found that a Chinese search website Goojje's logo is a rip-off of Google's.

Google on Tuesday, Feb 9 said that it has sent a cease and desist letter to Gojje's operators asking them to stop using the logo which is resembles its own logo protected by trademark.

On visiting Goojje's home page the user finds that the Chinese search engine home page is strikingly similar to that of Google's.

The 'Goo' part is almost the same while the second half of the logo carries paw print logo of China's top search engine, Baidu Inc.

The name Goojje is a seen as a play on words. The second half of the word 'jje' or 'Jie Jie' is Mandarin for 'older sister', while the 'gle' or 'ge ge' of 'Google' means 'older brother'.

Goojje, which provides search and social networking services, was launched in Jan 2010.

Google's protests against the Chinese site's logo comes a month after the US-based Internet major threatened to pull out of the country over allegations of hacking and censorship issues.
