Conclude '84 riot cases in 6 months: Delhi HC

New Delhi, Feb 8: The Delhi High Court on Monday, Feb 8, directed the trial court to conclude the four pending 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases within six months.

A bench comprising Chief Justice AP Shah and Justice Rajiv Sahai directed the trial court to conclude the trials in all four cases within six months.

This development comes after the1984 riot victims pleaded for speedy trials.

The court also appointed a special public prosecutor and an advocate to argue the cases in the trial court and the high court.

New Delhi, Apr 2: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) gave a clean chit to Congress leader and former Union Minister Jagdish Tytler in a case registered against him for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots in Delhi.The CBI is reported to have said that there is no evidence against Tytler, sources said.The CBI also recommended quashing of FIR against the Congress leader.On Mar 28, the CBI filed the report in a sealed envelope before Metropolitan Magistrate Ram.....
