Sun Microsystems' CEO tweets his resignation

Sun Microsystems' CEO tweets his resignation
Washington, Feb 4: Jonathan Schwartz, the last chief executive of Sun Microsystems, has become the first Fortune 200 CEO to tweet his resignation.

On Wednesday night, Feb 3, Schwartz wrote, "Today's my last day at Sun. I'll miss it. Seems only fitting to end on a #haiku. Financial crisis/Stalled too many customers/CEO no more."

It is known that Schwartz would resign following Sun's sale to Oracle.

Schwartz replaced Sun co-founder Scott McNealy as chief executive in 2006.

He became the first chief executive of a major company to put up his own blog.

According to reports, Oracle's CEO Larry Ellison is not fond of Schwartz.

In an interview last week, Ellison said he fully expected Schwartz to resign rather than play a role in the combined company.

To which Schwartz said he planned to spend time with his family in the short term and get back to work in an Internet-based business in the long term.
