K'taka: Sene bans V-day, supports Sena against SRK

Sene bans Valentine's day in K'taka
Belgaum, Feb 2: While the love-struck couples, young and old alike, are busy making plans for the upcoming Valentine's day, it is also that time of the year when the moral policing brigade of the country are bustling with ideas and protests.

This year Karnataka's right wing organisation, Sri Rama Sena is the first one to issue a warning against V-Day in the state.

Sri Rama Sena is the outfit that created a storm in 2008 after its activists attacked girls in a Mangalore pub.

Sene supremo Pramod Muthalik has urged educational institutions, restaurants, theatres not to allow and encourage Valentine's day celebrations.

"If a couple in love are really interested, the Sene will contact their parents and arrange to get them married," Muthalik told reporters.Sene has also decided to join Shiv Sena's protest against Shahrukh Khan's film 'My Name is Khan' in view of the Bollywood actor's statements inviting Pakistani cricketers to play in Indian Premier League-3.

Mutalik was part of Shiv Sena until the Maharashtra-Karnataka boundary dispute surfaced.
