RSS chief expresses concern over Kashmir violence

Bhubaneswar, Jan 27 (ANI): Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat has voiced concern over the violence in Kashmir.

Addressing a public meeting here on Tuesday, Bhagwat said: "If infiltration is taking place along the India-Pakistan border and Pakistan refuses to take any action or control it then I think Indian army should take immediate steps to check it."

Bhagwat also expressed concern about the plight of Kashmiri Pandits.

He called for the settlement of Hindus in the Kashmir region where laws prohibit outsiders from to buying property.

"Indian patriots should be more in number in our Kashmir. For this if we have to inhabit more of India lovers then we must. If people residing in Kashmir are not loyal to their motherland and do not consider themselves as Indians, then we should not hesitate to settle the state with Indian patriots," Bhagwat said.

Admitting that the Maoist violence had its roots in societal backwardness, Bhagwat said the administration should take up developmental activities to defeat Left wing extremism. (ANI)

BJP constitutes panels on economy and South Asia

New Delhi, July 20: The BJP today constituted committees on Economic Affairs and South Asian Affairs to be headed by former Union ministers Murli Manohar Joshi and Yashwant Sinha respectively. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of BJP General Secretaries, BJP President Rajnath Singh told newspersons. The committees will advise the party on issues relating to them. Mr Arun Shourie, another former union minister, has been appointed.....
