Pakistanis held with fake Indian currency in Dhaka

Dhaka, Jan 22: Two Pakistanis, including one Bangladeshi woman were held with fake Indian currency notes by the Bangladesh police from a hotel in Dhaka.

The arrested, identified as Mohammad Danish, Sabbir Ali and Fatema Akhter Opi had fake Indian currency worth Rs 10 lakh in their possession at the time of the arrest.

Police said that the trio were members of an international smuggling racket and were using smuggling fake Indian currency en route Bangladesh.

Suspecting them of funding the Lashkar-e-Toiba activities, police added that over the last three years the trio have made several visits to Nepal, India and Pakistan.

However, the suspects have denied all the charges.

While Danish hails from Lahore, Ali is from Karachi and Opi who is believed to be Danish's wife is from Bangladesh.
