Bangalore, Jan 22: Popular search engine, Google proved the market estimates wrong as it posted a revenue of $6.67 billion, amidst recession in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Google's earning release reported 17 pc rise with revenues of $6.67 in the fourth quarter of 2009, against the $5.70 billion in revenues in the fourth quarter of 2008.

66 pc rise of total revenues or $4.42 billion in revenues was reported in Google-owned sites, which is comparatively 16 pc more than that of the revenue in the fourth quarter of the year 2008.

The earning from the Google's partner sites, through AdSense programs generated a revenue of $2.04 billion, representing 31% of total revenues, which is reportedly 21 pc more than the fourth quarter 2008 network revenues of $1.69 billion.

In terms of international revenues, the search engine earned a total of $3.52 billion, or 53pc total revenues form United States in the fourth quarter of 2009, against the 53pc in the third quarter of 2009 and 50pc in the fourth quarter of 2008.

From the united Kingdom , Google reported a total revenue of $772 million, showing 12pc of revenues in the fourth quarter of 2009, similar to the 12 pc in the fourth quarter of 2008.

The paid click sites, such as clicks related to ads posted on search engine and those of its AdSense partners, fetch Google approximately 13pc rise in the total revenue against the approximately 9 pc increase in the third quarter of 2009.
