Hockey stir ends, players to resume WC practice

Hockey players end boycott
Pune, Jan 13: The deadlock between the revolting players and authorities finally came to an end after the players' meeting with Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Suresh Kalmadi on Wednesday, Jan 13.

As per reports, the players have decided to end their boycott and return to practice at the preparatory World Cup camp in Pune.

Kalmadi came here on Wednesday, Jan 13 morning after the players and Hockey India officials failed to reach a comprise over the payment issue despite holding several rounds of talks.Last week, the players decided to start the coup to protest the non-payment of their dues and incentives for their performance in 2009.

The hockey governing body failed to persuade the players into getting back to practice after trying all means.
