More student suicides shock Maharashtra
Nashik, Jan 7: After three separate incidents of students committing suicide in Mumbai shocked the country on Jan 4, two more student suicides in the state have come to light.

While a class XI student committed suicide by hanging herself in Thane's Wagle Estate, an ex-student of an engineering college ended her life in Nashik.

Both the suicides were reported on Wednesday, Jan 6.

In the first case, the deceased has been identified as Rupali Shinde, a class XI student of Maharashtra Vidyalaya. The police said that the motive behind the suicide is not known.

The girl reportedly ended her life when her family members were not around.

In the second case, the deceased has been identifed as Dhanashree Patil, a former student of Amritvahini College of Engineering.

The principal of the college, GJ Vikhe-Patil, revealed that Dhanashree had failed in several subjects in her final year Mechanical Engineering course examinations.

The girl lives in Sangamner town of Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. Her suicide was discovered on Jan 6 morning by her friends.

The friends immediately informed the girls' parents, who are currently in Kerala.

She was expected to clear the failed paper before she could continue the course.

Failure in exams is being seen as the motive behind the suicide.
