Union Budget likely on Feb 27: Bansal
New Delhi, Jan 6: The union Budget 2010 is likely to be presented in the Lok Sabha on Saturday, Feb 27, instead of Feb 28.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said, "In view of holidays for three consecutive days from February 26 onwards, we can have it (Budget presentation) on Feb 27."

"The final decision on the date of presentation of the Budget will be taken by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA)," he added.

The CCPA will have to take a call on the date of presentation of Budget as Feb 28 happens to be Sunday and Feb 26 is a holiday (Prophet Mohammad's birthday - Milad-un-Nabi).

The CCPA, which is headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, will also have to decide the dates for presentation of the Railway Budget and the Economic Survey which precedes the general budget.
