SL recovers LTTE chief Prabhakaran's personal gun

LTTE Prabhakaran's personal gun found
Colombo, Jan 6: The personal gun and body armour belonging to the slain chief of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Vellupilai Prabhakaran have been recovered.

Sri Lanka on Tuesday, Jan 5 said that arms used by Prabhakaran along with suicide kits and anti-aircraft guns were found buried 15 feet under the ground at Vellamulliwaikkal area in Mulaittivu.

As per the local media reports, Senior DIG for Vavuniya Nimal Lewke has confirmed that the M-16A2 with a grenade launcher used by the Tamil Tiger chief as his personal weapon has been found.

With a total of 125 suicide kits, 50 mortar bombs, 25 anti-aircraft guns have been recovered so far, the Lankan security personnel continue to purge the northern region, the stronghold of LTTE, for more weapons.

The rebel Tiger chief was killed on May 18 after months of offensive launched by the Sri Lankan government in 2009.

TELSCC to collect food, medicine for Tamils in SL

Chennai, Dec 12: Tamil Eelam Liberation Supporters Coordination Committee (TELSCC) will launch a fortnight long movement in the state from December 15 to collect food, medicines and other essential commodities to the starving Tamils in Lanka.TELSCC Convenor P Nedumaran, a staunch supporter of Tamil Eelam, yesterday said here that the collected materials would be despatched to the suffering Tamils through the International Red Cross Society.In a statement here, Mr Nedumaran said the TELSCC also condemned the Lankan government.....

Finally the Karnataka government responds to the farmers Davangere Jan 6 The government of Karnataka has come to back the farmers at ultimate time with the decision not to acquire the agriculture land for the purpose of industrial development. The District Commissioner has addressed the press with the orders of the Karnataka Government. The Government always acted as pro-farmers government but with decision took by some farmers mislead the opinion about the government. This made. Previously the farmers conducted continuous stir ups in variety. They voluntarily arrested themselves with “jail bharo” agitation. The government misbehaved by putting handcuffs to the voluntarily arrested farmers. This gave the government a big blow of criticism. Finally government understood the depth of farmers protest and came with the order of leaving the land acquisition. But Farmers are still not happy After the press meet press persons spoke to the stir one of the farmers leaders Avaragere Rudramuni. He told untill the orders come through black and white the farmers will not stop their agitation. We are not ready to believe the coax of the government he added.
