SIT suggests handing over Ruchika's case to CBI
New Delhi, Jan 6: The Special Investigation Team conducting investigation against former DGP SPS Rathore in the Ruchika molestation case has suggested handing over the case to CBI, according to sources in Haryana government.

In its report, the seven-member SIT headed by IGP (Security) S S Kapoor has suggested that the state government to transfer the case to CBI.

SIT recommendation is likely to find acceptance from the state government as it coincides with the chief minister Bhupinder Singh's earlier suggestion to let the CBI handle Ruchika's case.

Haryana police who filed the third FIR under section 306 (abetment to suicide) against accused SPS Rathore too has recommended that the case be handed over to CBI.

SIT was formed by the state government following a nationwide uproar against the six months sentencing of the former DGP on Dec 21, 2009 in the case.
